Refrigerated Trailer Washouts

Food-grade reefer trailer washouts for carriers hauling produce, dairy, frozen, and grocery loads across Southeast Idaho. We sanitize and deodorize the box, clean floor grooves, walls, and drains, and get your refrigerated trailer ready for its next load — so you pass food-safety inspections and avoid cross-contamination.

Refrigerated Trailer Washouts

Professional Refrigerated Trailer Washouts Across Southeast Idaho

A refrigerated trailer that carried raw protein or produce last week can't pick up a clean grocery load this week unless the interior is properly washed out. Food-safety and FSMA-adjacent hauling standards reward clean equipment, and a trailer that smells like the last load is a trailer that can fail an inspection or lose a customer.

Our reefer washouts flush the floor grooves, sidewalls, bulkhead, and drain channels; lift odors from protein, dairy, and produce; and leave the box sanitized and ready for the next load. We work at your yard, so your trailers stay in rotation instead of sitting at a wash bay across town.

Eastern Idaho's agriculture and grocery distribution runs on reefer fleets — produce from the Snake River Plain, dairy from regional dairies, and frozen loads routed along I-15 and US 20. A recurring washout program keeps every trailer in the rotation inspection-ready and every load protected from the cross-contamination risk that follows a dirty box.

We use professional-grade food-safe cleaners and sanitizers, the same standard you'd expect at any professional reefer wash operation. The floor grooves get flushed, the walls get scrubbed, the drains get cleared, and the box gets deodorized — so the next driver who opens the doors smells clean, not the last load.

What We Handle

Refrigerated Trailer Washouts — Scope of Work

Floor grooves & walls

Scrub and flush the interior box top to bottom — floor grooves, sidewalls, bulkhead, and ceiling.

Drain channels

Clear drains so wash water moves out and the floor dries properly before the next load.

Deodorizing

Lift lingering odors from protein, produce, dairy, or fuel spills so the box smells clean.

Sanitizing

Leave the box sanitized and ready for the next food-grade load.

Our Process

How We Wash

1. Soap wash

Professional-grade food-safe soap applied to the interior walls, ceiling, and floor — the same sanitizers used at professional reefer wash operations.

2. Scrub as needed

Agitate floor grooves, sidewalls, bulkhead, and ceiling to lift spilled product, residue, and stubborn odors.

3. Rinse

High-volume rinse flushes loosened debris and wash water out through the drain channels.

4. Final inspection & touch up

We clear the drains, deodorize the box, and sanitize the interior so the next driver opens the doors to a clean, food-grade-ready trailer.

Acid brighteners available on request for heavy oxidation, stained aluminum, or chrome that needs a deeper restore than soap and pressure alone — just ask when booking.

Why It Matters

The Case for Refrigerated Trailer Washouts

Why reefer washouts matter for food safety

Cross-contamination is the single biggest risk in refrigerated hauling. A trailer that carried raw poultry or unwashed produce can transfer bacteria, allergens, and odors to the next load — and that risk shows up in food-safety audits, customer rejections, and lost contracts. A proper washout isn't just a cleaning; it's a documented step in a food-safe cold chain, and the carriers who run it consistently are the ones who keep their grocery and produce customers.

Odor is the first warning sign

If a trailer smells like the last load, it isn't clean — no matter how it looks. Protein, dairy, and certain produce loads leave odors that soak into floor grooves and sidewalls and resurface when the box warms up. Our deodorizing step lifts those odors at the source so the next driver who opens the doors smells a clean trailer, not the previous load.

Drains are the most-missed spot

The drain channels in a reefer floor are where wash water, spilled product, and bacteria collect. If they aren't flushed and cleared, the floor never fully dries and the box stays a contamination risk. Every washout includes a full drain flush — it's the detail that separates a real washout from a rinse.
